On March 16, Jittery Joe’s released the Honeysuckle Matcha as a part of its limited edition Spring Drink Drop menu.
Local coffeehouse chain Jittery Joe’s new Honeysuckle Matcha was released to all stores on March 16 as a part of its Spring Drink Drop. The drink provides customers with a sweet syrupy experience, but falls short in terms of a unique flavor profile and presentation, as it lacks creative visual appeal.
Alongside the taste of the 100% pure Kokoro matcha green tea powder, the drink also includes customers’ choice of milk and two flavoring syrups: honey and vanilla, which simulate the nostalgic taste of a honeysuckle flower. The matcha ranges from $6.70 for 12oz that is unavailable as an iced drink, to $7.80 for 24oz.
Matcha-lovers will enjoy this new addition to the menu, as the drink does not provide a bold shift in terms of flavor or presentation, but instead a hint of floral sweetness.

However, in terms of taste, customers may note is a hint of honeyed sweetness from the vanilla and honey syrup combination, which adds an enjoyable, slightly candied taste.

The new Honeysuckle Matcha delivered a subtle sweet flavor and an enjoyable drinking experience. “The combination of vanilla and honey flavoring make the drink stand out amongst the typical matcha lattes Jittery Joe’s offers,” Diversity and Representation Editor Samaya Ellis wrote. Additionally, the drink does a great job of creating an atmosphere of spring. Through the classic bright green coloring and the flavor resembling a honeysuckle flower, the drink serves as a pleasant reminder that spring is in bloom.
All things considered, Jittery Joe’s Honeysuckle Matcha presents an enjoyable twist on their classic matcha lattes with a subtle essence of spring. Matcha-lovers will enjoy this new addition to the menu, as the drink does not provide a bold shift in terms of flavor or presentation, but instead a hint of floral sweetness.
