Stalker is the new TV series that creates a unique face for detective shows and keeps you guessing.
On Oct. 1, CBS aired its first episode of Stalker directed by Liz Friedlander. The show begins with Detective Jack Larsen, who is leaving his life in New York for mysterious reasons, arriving for his first day on the job working for Lieutenant Beth Davis at the elite Threat Assessment Unit team in Los Angeles which focuses on cases of stalking.
Detective Larsen is inexperienced in the field, yet very confident and right off the bat Lt. Davis shows an open disliking and superiority complex towards him, creating a very intriguing experience for the viewer.
What’s even more riveting is how quickly the show plunges into stalker cases that will make your skin crawl. The first episode gives you a close look into a stalker case with a stalker who has a fondness towards setting his victims on fire. Later episodes involve stalkers infatuated with children, ex-lovers, haunted houses, clowns and celebrity stalkers.
As the season progresses viewers see the characters Detective Larsen and Lt. Davis personal stories develop while getting to see a new freaky stalker case each episode. Det. Larsen and Lt. Davis asses the stalker cases while trying to deal with their own issues.
Stalker keeps viewers in awe during each episode. The characters are well-developed with fascinating back stories and the stalker case while unsettling, give the viewer a close look into the mind of stalkers and offering the chilling thought that it’s not just movie stars that stalkers prey on.
Stalker airs every Wed. at 10 p.m. on CBS.
