CCSD and Athens Community Career Academy ninth and 10th grade students are invited to attend the ACCA Pathway Showcase night on March 6.
Athens Community Career Academy will be hosting a Pathway Showcase on March 6 for students and families to tour career pathways with an open registration for the 2025-26 school year.
The showcase will be open from 5:30-7 p.m. to current ninth and 10th grade students in the Clarke County School District and their families, allowing them to explore the ACCA campus and learn about each pathway through guided tours and demonstrations.
“In addition to participating in high school and college-level career-themed pathways, students at ACCA can earn early college-essentials course credits, obtain industry-recognized certification credentials, and participate in professional apprenticeships and internships through the local workforce across a wide range of in-demand economic sectors,” a Feb. 26 CCSD press release stated.

One of the featured programs with open slots for registration is the Broadcast Video and Film Production pathway. At the event, students and families will be welcomed by Michael Bosby, the ACCA Audio Visual Technology and Film Instructor, to tour his broadcast equipment.
“I usually bring out all of the cameras that we can use. In my classroom (and) studio, the lights and green screens and everything (are) right there for you to see,” Bosby said. “If anybody has a question, (I’m) right there and can answer it. I’ll turn on a camera and let them look through it and get an idea of what this class (is like).”
Other opportunities that will be showcased at the event include Biotechnology and the Entertainment, Sports and Event Management. Bosby, who also teaches at Cedar Shoals High School, has noticed students’ lack of awareness of pathway options and believes it’s important to introduce students to what ACCA does.
“When (ACCA) does something like an (Pathway Showcase), I’m always game for it,” Bosby said. “It gives parents and students an opportunity to see what pathways we have here at (ACCA) and decide to come to Career Academy.”
