The Clarke Central High School Gladiators will be facing off against the Central Gwinnett High School Black Knights, who are coming off a 27-21 win against Collins Hill High School last Friday night. These are some key statistics leading into tonight’s game.
271 – Clarke Central High School gave up 271 rushing yards in a loss to Marist High School last week, a statistic that CCHS will try to improve upon against the the Black Knights.
217 – The total offensive gain for CCHS was 217 yards.
6 – The difference in score for CGHS was six points last week against Collins Hill High School, as the Black Knights won 27-21.
2 – The only two touchdowns scored for the Gladiators against Marist were from junior receiver Jaquan Dowdy.
80 – A mere 80 yards was the total offense the Black Knights’s defense held CHHS to in the first half of their game last Friday.
4 – CCHS allowed four touchdowns against Marist. The War Eagles missed one extra point, and kicked a field goal right before the first half ended.
11 – CCHS starting junior defenders Chika Anukam and Kavon Williams each accounted for 11 tackles individually against Marist.
65 – The longest play from scrimmage for CGHS against CHHS was 65 yards. Quarterback Eman Westmoreland threw to receiver Justin Brownlee for a touchdown.
0 – Marist tight end Greg Taboada, who has scholarship offers from the University of Alabama, the University of Oregon and Florida State University, among others, was held to zero catches by the CCHS defense.
2 – For the second week in a row, CCHS is facing a college prospect. Last week the Gladiators faced Taboada, and this week the offense will have to contain linebacker CGHS senior Trey Johnson, who is verbally committed to Auburn University.
