Clarke Central High School senior Amari Garrett, also known as LowkeyGotGame, is an up-and-coming YouTuber who is increasingly gaining followers.
Clarke Central High School senior Amari Garrett is very lowkey as he walks through the halls of CCHS. He doesn’t draw attention to himself, a quiet student despite the fact that many people recognize him as his YouTube personality, LowkeyGotGame.
His laid-back demeanor at CCHS is nothing like the outgoing personality he displays on his YouTube channel. Although they are the same person, Garrett feels that the two sides of his life are completely different.
“(Lowkey is) exciting. He talks a lot, he’s crazy and really fun,” Garrett explained.
He got his name from his easygoing personality and his extreme love of sports — more specifically, his love of basketball, which he often showcases in his videos.

His decision to start a YouTube channel was fueled by his undying creativity. At a young age, his tattoo artist father inspired an interest in art. As he got older, he became interested in editing videos, which ultimately led him to his decision.
His videos include skits about popular movies and pop culture references, executed in an unconventional fashion. He draws inspiration from other YouTubers, like SauceDelgado and SoIlluminati.
All of Garrett’s videos have humor in them, but he wants to ensure that he relays a positive message in his content. One aspect of positivity that he displays in his videos isn’t as obvious as one may think.
“I’ll usually get people (from CCHS) who people usually don’t talk (to be in my videos). Reputation doesn’t really mean anything,” Garrett said. “Everybody is somebody.”
Garrett is looking forward to seeing his channel expand over the next few years. He wants to reach more people and inspire others.
Since he is such a shy person, having a YouTube channel is a refreshing way for him to introduce viewers to a personality they may not see from him otherwise.
“There may be another me out there, because I started out looking at other people’s videos and that’s what sparked me to do videos. Maybe someone else out there needs it,” Garrett said.
