Musical.ly is a free app that allows users to lip sync to various songs, vines or parodies. It is similar to the app Dubsmash, but users can film themselves in fast and slow motion.
Musical.ly is a free social media app that allows users to make 15-second videos, usually lip syncing to a song. Songs include top hits, Vines and parodies.
Musical.ly is on Google Play, the App Store or Amazon. It is compatible with most recent Apple devices. However some Android products aren’t supported by the app and may glitch.
This free app has elements that combine Vine, Twitter and Dubsmash all in one, such as short videos that play on a loop, uses of hashtags and lip syncing. Unlike Dubsmash, users can choose music from their own music libraries and film videos in fast motion, slow motion, normal, time lapse or “epic”.
After a video has uploaded, users can further edit their videos. Users can cut the music or put it into the “time machine,” which consists of elements, such as putting the video into reverse or time trap which repeats a certain section almost as if it’s glitching. The time machine also has a relativity feature which makes a section of the video change to slow motion. The last edit users can use is a variety of filters.
One of the features is the ability to view trending hashtags on the app, under the magnifying glass icon and in the discover tab. Also, in the discover tab, there is the leader board which is updated every day. The leaderboard consists of users who receive the most likes.
The app features videos and a stream of what other Musical.ly users are posting. The cheerful orange and pink colors make it visually appealing and easy to navigate.
There are also many challenges that are trending such as the Don’t Judge Challenge, the Cha Cha Challenge and the Hit the Quan Challenge.
