The current varsity flag football seniors were freshmen during the program’s inaugural year. Now, as team leaders, they prepare for their Senior Night in Billy Henderson Stadium on Nov. 4.
Under the lights of Billy Henderson Stadium on Nov. 4, four Clarke Central High School seniors will take the field for their final home game, not just as players but as pioneers. For flag football, the 2025-26 Senior Night is not just the end of a season, but the end of the program’s beginning.
When the CCHS flag football program launched during the 2022-23 school year, the team didn’t have years of tradition, but rather curiosity, drive and a handful of eager freshmen. Among those freshmen were current wide receivers Mimi Hill, Sadie Miller and KK Smith and kicker Cameron Mojock, now closing out their high school careers as senior leaders of the same program they helped start.
“None of us had ever played flag football before (our freshman year.) We were just learning, and now as seniors, we’re evolving our drills, becoming more complex and our practices are running smoother,” Miller said. “It’s amazing to have been part of the program for four years to see the progression and experience it firsthand.”

In its inaugural season, the team finished with an overall record of 4-6, falling short of state playoffs. The Gladiators have turned that foundation into success, finishing with an overall record of 15-8 during the 2024-25 season and making it to the Georgia High School Association Division 2 Sweet 16 round.
“I’ve seen their skills grow and mature. When it comes to drills, they know how to execute (them with) certainty. We have this slogan called ‘Pay to FEE’: Focus, Effort, Execute, and they’ve been exemplifying that since their freshman year,” CCHS head varsity flag football coach Cherrelle Pass said.
For Senior Night, CCHS will host North Oconee High School and Cherokee High School on Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively. The Gladiators have never defeated NOHS, falling short in the three previous matchups with a combined score of 6-63. For Miller and her fellow seniors, they have their minds set on winning this year.
