1. All the Boys Love Mandy Lane
This 06’ film is about a group of high school kids going on a small vacation to Red’s (Aaron Himelstein) ranch house. Mandy Lane (Amber Heard) is true beauty at their school and, just like the title of the film states , all of the boys love Mandy Lane. The conflict over a chance to be with Mandy quickly turns deadly. This movie slowly unfolds and its twist ending will get you every time.
2. Scream
“ Scream “ was released in 96 and it was the first movie in the eventual five-film “ Scream “ series. We start off with Drew Barrymore’s character Casey Becker is taunted with over the phone. Leaving the classic line, “ what’s your favorite scary movie.” in our minds. Once again you’re plopped down in a small town with a bad past, but unlike most slasher movies this film keeps you on your toes and the killer is very unpredictable.
3. Carrie
“ Carrie “a 2013 film involving a shy and bullied girl, named Carrie. Growing up in a veiled and religious family, she is brutally bullied by peers. She reaches her last straw at her senior prom when it is revealed that she has telekinetic powers. This movie has some serious justice to it, along with a few wrongful deaths. It packs a punch, viewers should be sure to avoid getting attached to the characters.
4. I know what you did last summer
“ I know what you did last summer” is a slasher classic. Starting off with a car accident killing a strange, and a group of teens deciding to dump the body. into the ocean. They swear not to tell, but when the one-year marker of the accident rolls around, it’s clear someone knows. As members of the group begin to die off, the teens decide to act fast to try to stay alive. Overall this plot is strong and is a good watch for some jump scares and gore.
5. My Bloody Valentine
The film is set in another small town with a bad past, this time a mining town. It all starts with an accident trapping six minors, with one lone survivor. But when it’s uncovered that the survivor actually killed the other men, he goes on a killing spree killing 22 people on Valentines Day. But that was 10 years ago, and the murders are picked up again. This ending will leave most in shock.
