For the first time since 2013, the Clarke Central High School varsity football team competed in the Georgia High School Association 5A Sweet 16 State Playoffs. The Clarke Central Gladiators traveled to Henry County to face the Stockbridge High School Tigers on Nov. 18. The Gladiators fell to the Tigers 37-13.

On Oct. 28, the Clarke Central High School varsity football team defeated Walnut Grove High School 33-21. This secures the Gladiators’ placement as the No.3 seed in the Region AAAAA GHSA State Football Championship.

On Sept. 30, CCHS went up against Buford High School and fell 44-13 to the Wolves. Before the game, the Clarke Middle School band and orchestra, the Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School band and the CCHS orchestra performed the “Star Spangled Banner” and at half-time, both teams’ marching bands took to the field.
