Coach Stefan Smith and Coach Omar Reid may not share the same last name, but they are brothers. Before they came to teach at Clarke Central High School, both men remember playing basketball under Coach Billy Wade.

Athens High School was integrated between 1963 and 1969. With school consolidation the next year, people on both sides of the racial divide remained in Athens, Ga. as reminders of the road towards equality.
