Valeria Garcia-Pozo is a senior at Clarke Central High School in Athens, Ga. This is her fourth year on staff and she has previously served as the Viewpoints Editor, Online News Editor, news writer and viewpoints writer. She is passionate about AP style, building relationships and writing. She has presented on topics such as editorial writing at regional journalism conferences, specifically the Southern Interscholastic Press Association (SIPA) conference, and has attended the National Scholastic Press Association and the Georgia Scholastic Press Association conferences. Garcia-Pozo has won multiple awards for both her news and editorial writing. Outside of journalism, Garcia-Pozo is involved in theatre and attended the 2018 Governor’s Honors Program for Communicative Arts.
