“Causality” is a clever game that challenges the player by presenting complex problems that demand specific solutions.
“Causality” has changed the definition of a puzzle game, and as a whole might change the entire puzzle-game genre. Through its complicated plot and intricate mechanics, this app has become a must-have for riddle enthusiasts everywhere.
The premise of the game is as unique as are the aesthetics that accompany it. On a strange alien world, the player must help a group of stranded astronauts find their way to safety. By swiping either up or down, the user moves each explorer across a dystopian landscape in an attempt to get him or her to a tile marked by a certain color that corresponds to each astronaut’s suit.
It seems simple enough, but there are many other factors that begin to complicate the mission quickly.
In addition to the various environmental obstacles that block one’s path that change from level to level, one also must master the extra mechanics of the game to help the castaways. With teleportation and time manipulation being necessary on many levels, the player must get the astronauts to their respective tiles while avoiding paradoxes, locked areas, and giant extraterrestrial squid-like tentacles.
All in all, “Causality” is a great game that is sure to please anyone who loves a good puzzle. Although the first levels go by quickly and the harder levels can leave players frustrated for days on end, the game never fails to entertain the user.
