Disney’s latest film “Moana” is a heartfelt family movie that will keep you locked in.
Disney’s newest family film “Moana” tells the story of a typical teenager rebelling against her parents to follow her own dreams and wishes, with the help of her grandmother and the Hawaiian demigod Maui. The movie was released in theaters on Nov. 23.
The film, while filled with a wave of emotions and heart warming scenes, also has thrilling adventure and action.
The film is centered around teenager Moana, who goes on a voyage to find the great demigod Maui, and forces him to return the heart of Fiti, which he stole. Without the heart of Fiti, the Islands will die. She feels obligated to go on the voyage when her own island starts to die which affects her people’s lives.
Of course, her parents forbid her to go pass the reef, but like any teenager, she goes anyway. With the help of her grandmother, or better known as the “village crazy lady”, they find their family’s old voyager boat and Moana sets sail to save her people.
Throughout the movie, Moana and Maui encounter multiple scary monsters and obstacles that they have to face in order to make it to Fiti. The picture is filled with up and down emotions and is the perfect family film. Anybody could relate to the movie and the concept of finding one’s purpose in this world.
The visuals were stunning and realistic and there were a multitude of colors. There are various plot-twist and a beautiful story, sometimes told in song because what is a Disney movie without songs? The movie is sure to keep your eyes glued to the screen and ready to see what jumps out at you next, if you see it in 3D.
Lovers of action packed yet uplifting, song filled, feel-good movies will enjoy this film, as it does not disappoint.
