The Fussy Hussy burger from Slutty Vegan, a vegan fast food restaurant, is shown. The Athens location, 700 Baxter St. Suite 800, opened on May 15 and proved to be a delicious dining option even for those who don’t identify as vegan. “All of Slutty Vegan’s dishes are full of flavor, with undercurrents of spices, including turmeric and paprika, not found in your typical burger and fries. The flavor even varies from bite to bite due to the variety of toppings, but blends into an overall cohesive palette that will leave customers licking their lips,” Variety Editor Isabella Westrich wrote. Athens’ Slutty Vegan location will delight both vegans and non-vegans with its colorful flavors and personality.
Bursting with flavor and personality, Athens’ Slutty Vegan location provides customers with delicious food and a fun experience. The vegan fast food restaurant, located at 700 Baxter St., opened on May 15 and currently serves carry-out only.
The restaurant is an offshoot of the Black-owned Atlanta-based chain, which was started in Oct. 2018 by owner Pinky Cole as a food truck. Since then, it has expanded to six locations across Georgia and Alabama with two more coming soon in Brooklyn, New York and Columbus, Georgia. It has also become a multimillion dollar brand and been endorsed by several celebrities.
Slutty Vegan aims to expand vegan options and promote food awareness through its menu. It offers a variety of dishes, all featuring a plant-based burger and a side of fries. Burger toppings include vegan cheese, vegan bacon and shrimp, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onion and the restaurant’s signature Slut Sauce.
The vegan burgers are so similar to real meat in taste and texture that even the most devout non-vegans might find themselves fooled, while vegans who miss eating meat can satisfy their cravings.
The vegan burgers are so similar to real meat in taste and texture that even the most devout non-vegans might find themselves fooled, while vegans who miss eating meat can satisfy their cravings. However, this may be off-putting for those who became vegan out of taste preference.
All of Slutty Vegan’s dishes are full of flavor, with undercurrents of spices, including turmeric and paprika, not found in your typical fast food. Flavor even varies from bite to bite due to the variety of toppings, but blends into an overall cohesive palette that will leave customers licking their lips.

Taste isn’t the only thing about Slutty Vegan that stands out. The brand also has a vibrant personality that shines through in everything it does.
Upon entering the building, customers are met with an enthusiastic announcement of “There’s a slut in the house!” Music blares over loudspeakers, and the walls are adorned with neon lights and sassy statements promoting veganism. Sandwiches have salacious names like “One Night Stand” or “Fussy Hussy”.
Most customers will enjoy this experience, although it could deter those who value more traditional dining.
Meals range in price from $11 to $19, putting Slutty Vegan above the average price of both normal and vegan burgers and extending far beyond the typical high schooler’s price range.
If customers can manage to fork over the money, Slutty Vegan is sure to delight most, both in taste and experience.
