Clarke Central High School girls soccer team expects a good season this year because of their pre-season preparations.
As the girls soccer tryouts comes to a near finish, the Clarke Central High School girls head soccer coach Chris Hulse expects an ideal size for the team.
“I do cut girls… but it kind of fluctuates just a little bit. Typically we’re hoping for no more than 18 for junior varsity, and for the varsity, 20 to 22 maybe,” Hulse said. “But again, that’s kind of organic and a little situational.”
Hulse expects the team to remain structural throughout the season.
“Once the season has began, everybody that has started it has finished it,” Hulse said.
Before Clarke Central High School freshmen and JV soccer player Andrea Aramburo completed the two week tryouts and made the team, she had hopes it wouldl be a successful year regardless.
“It seems like it’s going to be a good team even though I’m not sure if I’m going to make the team or not,” Aramburo said. “Most of the players are really really good so they have been working hard.”
Last year, the girls team were a win away from placing second in the region, but Hulse believes the girls, this year, has the capability if they put in their full effort.
“This year, there’s no one that we don’t have the potential to beat. We have to be committed, we have to put in the work, we have to prepare,” Hulse said. “But if we’re willing to do our part, there’s nobody on our schedule that we can’t come ahead of.”
