In the past few weeks Athens has experienced a heavy amount of rainfall, affecting how construction operates. “Pray for no rain because the more it rains, the more it delays construction,” principal Dr. Robbie P. Hooker said.

As construction workers plans are pushed back due to rain, students at Clarke Central High School are appreciating a quieter school environment.
During this spring at Clarke Central High School, students have experienced a heavy amount of rain.
“I think that the amount of rain that we’ve been experiencing has made it really difficult to walk between classes. If it starts lightning and thundering, I feel like it will be dangerous to students,” junior Lexi DiMaina said.
Not only has the rain affected student life, but it has the potential to push back construction plans.
“Pray for no rain because the more it rains, the more it delays construction,” principal Dr. Robbie P. Hooker said.
However, despite the possible delay for construction, students have found it more easy to focus in class because there aren’t any noises from construction workers.
“Without the construction noises, especially in my math class, I’ve been able to focus a lot better,” DiMania said.
DiMania also says that the lack of noise is important since AP testing and finals are coming up soon.
“Going into AP testing and final exams, I think that it is really important to cut down on construction because the noise really distracts me from the work that I am working on,” Dimania said. “Students need to do well on their finals and AP exams.”
