Several CCHS and ODYSSEY Media Group alumni returned to the school on July 26 to speak to new ODYSSEY staffers about how the publication affected their lives.

The radio show “Education Matters” is hosted and produced by teenagers and strives to show the Athens-Clarke County community the importance of education.

In 2008, the University of Georgia founded the Georgia College Advising Corps (GCAC) in partnership with the Watson-Brown Foundation and College Advising Corps, which allows high schools across the state the opportunity to have a full-time college adviser in their school. Currently, 15 schools in Georgia have a college adviser due to the GCAC, including Clarke Central High School and Cedar Shoals High School.

GLAD Time is the two hour period on Wednesdays when students can remediate and participate in enrichment activities. Beginning in the 2014-15 school year GLAD Time has more opportunities for enrichment compared to the previous school year. This year, chess club, which formerly met outside of school hours only, has been added to the list of available GLAD times.
