Athens community members attend the Athens Farmers Market at Bishop Park, located at 705 Sunset Dr., on Feb. 14. Clarke Central High School world languages department teacher Tamita Brown has co-run her business at the farmers market, Caribe United Farm, alongside her husband, Gabriel Jimenez, since 2018. “I do enjoy coming to the market. I look forward to every week, (and) coming to meet all my customers, new and old, every week,” Brown said. “It’s just awesome to have fresh, quality food at your fingertips. Not only that, but you know your farmers. You know who’s growing your crop. You can ask them about the process, what is that they do. That’s the beauty of having this farmers’ market here.” Photos by Peter Atchley
