The Clarke Central High School varsity football team defeated Apalachee High School 48-21 in their Region 8-AAAAA matchup in Billy Henderson Stadium on Sept. 28. The game marked Apalachee’s return to the football field following defensive coordinator Ricky Aspinwall’s death in the Apalachee school shooting on Sept. 4. “Everything now is for Coach A and all the other victims, and that’s how we wanna honor them, by getting out on the field and playing football,” Apalachee head varsity football coach Mike Hancock said.
