On Aug. 28, Dairy Queen re-released the “Fall Blizzard Treat Menu” with the addition of one new flavor.
Dairy Queen’s, known for its Blizzards, has officially brought back their “Fall Blizzard Treat Menu,” for the season with one new addition: the Royal REESE’s Fluffernutter. The Blizzard is available in all standard sizes ranging in price from $4.39 to $7.19. It is delightful and packed with flavor, but lacks in some areas.
At first glance, the Royal REESE’s Fluffernutter looks unexciting and quite bland, appearing to simply be vanilla soft serve mixed with chocolate flecks. However, after the first bite, this assumption is immediately discarded.
The creamy soft serve has a strong peanut butter flavor, but the well-sized flecks of REESE’s peanut butter cups balance it out and add just the right amount of chocolate. This gives the soft serve a mouthwatering sweet and salty effect, leaving customers craving more.

While the soft serve is very well-executed, the marshmallow center is disappointing. The marshmallow fluff is difficult to find, and once located, it’s absurdly sweet. When the marshmallow fluff and the soft serve mix together, the delicious soft serve is overpowered and becomes unfavorable.
While the marshmallow alone misses the mark, the texture of the two together is surprisingly enjoyable. The creamy soft serve and gelatinous marshmallow center works well, combining smoothly without a spongy or sticky mouthfeel.
