Latin American foods of CCHS

CCHS students of Latin American heritage share recipes for and memories of their favorite cultural dishes. Senior Nathan Paredes explained the process for cooking his favorite Latin American food, arroz de chaufa. “The first thing I do is make the egg and make sure it comes out right. Then (I) put the rice in the rice cooker and make sure my mom helps me with the chicken because the chicken is the most important part,” Paredes said. “Then you trim (the vegetables) slowly and put (them) in the pot. After that, my mom does it because I can’t pay attention to it.
