Microsoft and Playground Games officially released their fifth game to the Forza Series. The game includes similar graphics (Xbox Series X or PC) to the previous game in the series, Forza Horizon 4, but is located in Mexico rather than in the UK and has a much larger map to play with compared to FH4. Microsoft and Playground Games officially released Forza Horizon 5 on Nov. 9, so far one of the best games in the series.
Located in picturesque Guanajuato, Mexico, with the biggest Forza map yet, Forza Horizon 5 was released on Nov. 9 on Xbox and PC only.
The new game retains the original mountainous landscaping from the first Forza Horizon, but brings in the 4k resolution enhancement from Forza Horizon 4, making it a spectacularly thrilling game for all players.
In the previous edition of the game, players had to focus their gameplay on certain race aspects to increase their amount of influence, or experience. One example of this is road racing, where players had to repeat races at the same level to earn enough influence to unlock the Goliath, one of the longest races in the game series.
In comparison, FH5 lets players complete a race and move on to the next one without having to repeat races to gain experience to unlock certain races. This makes the game more interesting to play, giving players more motivation to finish.
Although the races are much easier to unlock, the number of races for the player to experience makes the game feel even longer than FH4. Even if the game is rushed or “speed ran,” where a player attempts to beat the game as fast as they can, FH5 still feels longer and more satisfying when completed than previous editions.
FH5 has a straightforward organization that allows players to choose from several options for racing without having too many to pick from.
The overall organization of the game is much simpler compared to the previous game version. FH4 could be overwhelming for players due to continuous updates and new unlockable car content. In comparison, FH5 has a straightforward organization that allows players to choose from several options for racing without having too many to pick from.
On the launch date, FH5 gave players 500 car choices, compared to FH4’s initial 460. The developers could have included more cars from previous years, as FH4 currently has 752 cars currently available due to the games continuous updates. Most likely, the developers will add more car options the longer the game is out.
The game also extensively expanded on character customization. It increased the number of clothing items and newly introduced prosthetic limbs, voice options and the ability to have pronouns allowing more inclusivity for players.
Forza Horizon 5 is one of the best games the developers have created in the Forza series so far. It fully immerses the players in the beauty of Mexico and gives the player an enjoyable adventure no matter their experience with games.
