The ninth annual Athens LatinX festival takes place on Oct. 13 on Washington St. The festival included musical performances, dances and a variety of Latin food vendors. “Latino fest is important to me because it reminds us that there isn’t just one kind of Spanish, one kind of Latino, or one kind of Hispanic food or music,” Clarke Central High School freshman Emma Scott said. “Latino fest celebrates all Hispanic cultures. I love being able to share this day of celebration of my heritage with so many other people in Athens.” Gallery by Elena Gilbertson Hall
