Fire Emblem Heroes is a mobile game released by Intelligent Systems and Nintendo that is a spin-off of the Fire Emblem series. Addicting and generous to players, Fire Emblem Heroes is ideal for lovers of mobile games.
Fire Emblem Heroes is a free-to-play tactical role-playing game released on Feb. 2 by Intelligent Systems and Nintendo for iOS and Android devices. Users play as themselves, thrust into a world that exists between the other Fire Emblem universes. They are then tasked to recruit heroes in order to defend the kingdom of Askr against Princess Veronica, who binds heroes to her side through contract.
Fire Emblem Heroes is incredibly addicting and enjoyable. With the play style being the same as it is in the Fire Emblem series, as well as being easy to understand to begin with, there is a very short learning curve for veteran and new players alike.
The gacha is also generous. While the summoning system in the game does allow the player to only summon one hero at a time, the game encourages players to summon up to five heroes at a time through discounting the amount of orbs (in-game currency) with each summon. Therefore, while the player could spend five orbs for one hero, he or she could also summon five heroes for 20 orbs in a single pull.
In addition, as the summoned heroes are only ranked from three stars to five stars as opposed to one star to five stars, there are overall better odds to obtaining a five star hero. This makes Fire Emblem Heroes’ gacha more generous than other gacha-based mobile games, such as Love Live.
Fire Emblem Heroes is not without its faults, however. There is some subtle sexual content in the game, all completely unnecessary, the most noticeable being how one female character’s breasts are absurdly pushed up in order to fit into her profile picture.
Also, players new to playing mobile games might find the prices for buying orbs expensive, although veterans to playing mobile games may find the prices average — if not cheaper — than other mobile games.
In conclusion, Fire Emblem Heroes is an incredibly fun mobile game that is ideal for new and old players of the Fire Emblem series alike. While it still has its faults with how it treats its female characters, it is still an enjoyable game with a very generous gacha, and frankly, that’s just what mobile game players need.
