On March 7, the eighth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” began with a bang as 12 new queens vyed for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar”.
Death drops, tongue pops and lots of drama–this is what fans of Logo’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race” have become expect from the reality T.V. show. This season, series host RuPaul Charles “went back to (her) roots” in the eighth installment of the competition.
The first episode of the season, the series 100th, opened with 12 new queens entering the workroom, with the 12th queen to enter marking the 100 queen to compete. Even though this year’s cast is the smallest since Season 2, it is perhaps the most diverse in highlighting different schools of drag.
Unlike the season before it, Season 8 features many big names in the drag world, such as Acid Betty and Bob the Drag Queen from New York City, Kim Chi from Chicago and Derrick Barry from Las Vegas.
The show is now five episodes in and five girls have #SashayedAway. In possibly the strongest opening in the show’s history, there are a few things that stand out so far:
1. The talent this season is SPECTACULAR
