The new sitcom, “Fuller House”, premiered on Feb. 26 on Netflix. The sitcom is a continuation of the original series, “Full House”, which premiered in 1987.
On April 20, 2015, John Stamos, who plays Uncle Jesse in the series “Fuller House” and “Fuller House,” announced on Jimmy Kimmel Live that he will be producing and starring in the new sitcom “Fuller House.” The 13 episode season was scheduled to premiere on Feb. 26, 2016 on Netflix as an original series. The YouTube channel Netflix US & Canada has been releasing video footage of the cast to get “Fuller House” fans eager for the upcoming season.
“Fuller House” is a continuation to the 1987–95 American sitcom “Full House”. Like the original series, the show is set in San Francisco, CA. It follows the life of DJ Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) as she raises her three boys with the help of her sister, Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend, Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), after the passing of her husband.
The acting is cheesy and corny jokes are thrown around. Though, If the viewer watched “Full House” this can be very sentimental. There are constant references to episodes from the original series and frequent appearances from “Full House” favorites such as Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier), Aunt Becky (Lori Loughlin), Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) and more. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, who alternated the role of Michelle Tanner, are the only main cast members who will not be coming back to reprise their role.
If you’re not familiar with “Full House,” “Fuller House” may not be of interest. But “Full House” fans and 90s children alike will have a blast with the occasional “How rude!” from Stephanie and “Have mercy!” from Uncle Jessie. Along with throwback songs to “Forever” by Jessie and the Rippers and “The Flintstones” theme song that were also featured in “Fuller House.” Overall, “Fuller House” lives up to it’s hype, but the 13 episode-season will never surpass the original.
