For the 49th time since 1974, crosstown high school rivals Clarke Central High School and Cedar Shoals High School football teams will clash in the Classic City Championship.
History
The first Classic City Championship was played in 1974 and was won by the Jaguars 14-7. The Gladiators lead the series with 33 victories, 15 defeats and no draws by winning the nine of the last 10 contests. In the last 10 contests, the Gladiators have outscored the Jaguars by a margin of 12 points per game.

2– The Classic City Championship has only gone into overtime twice–in 1982 and 1995–both games ending with a Gladiator victory.
