Renovations began this past summer. “I think the next school year for me (is) just (being) excited about competing this building at the next school term and to see something that’s been in probation for the past eight, nine, 10 years to finally come into play,” Hooker said. “So, excitement of seeing the new building being erected and everyone taking their places (is what I look forward to).” Photo by Chad Rhym.

As the school year comes to an end, Clarke Central High School principal Dr. Robbie P. Hooker reflects on the year.
With the ongoing construction, many parents, students and Clarke Central High School staff eagerly anticipate the outcome of the renovation. As the 2015-16 school year comes to a close, CCHS principal Dr. Robbie P. Hooker reflects on the construction.
“I think one of my favorite moments is opening up the Freshmen Academy, to see the excitement on the student’s and parent’s faces as we did the freshmen day,” Hooker said. “Parents are excited that their students wouldn’t be in the main building. They would be in their own little area, so that was one of the highlights of this school year.”
For next year, results of the renovations not only excites students, but also administrators to see the appearance and structure of the new building according to Hooker.
“I think the next school year for me (is) just (being) excited about competing this building at the next school term and to see something that’s been in probation for the past eight, nine, 10 years to finally come into play,” Hooker said. “So, excitement of seeing the new building being erected and everyone taking their places (is what I look forward to).”
As Hooker looks back on the building as of now, he realizes the outstanding differences construction will make.
“If you look back to West Wing and look at the size of the new classrooms over there, how large they are, moving from 600 and something square feet to 900 something square feet,” Hooker said. “I think that’s been good and to know after a two year period, that we will have large classrooms like that across the building.”
