American rapper Waka Flocka Flame stunned concertgoers during his Feb. 25 show at the Georgia Theatre in downtown Athens.
On Weds., Feb. 25, rapper Waka Flocka Flame performed at the Georgia Theatre with lyrical hip hop artist Ben G and music producer/DJ Nugs Bunny as opening acts. Flocka performed his most popular songs “Hard in the Paint”, “No Hands”, “Round of Applause” and “Rooster in my ‘Rari” along with an additional collection of pieces from his mixtape with French Montana, Wavy Lock Out Mixtape.
As is typical for Athens, most concertgoers were college students, but the show was all-ages and reached a broad audience. Those who turned out likely encountered passionate fans rushing to get as close to Flocka and interacting with the rapper himself as he walked through the crowd.
Flocka has the power of making almost any person feel like much more than just a fan.
Flocka’s performance riled up the crowd and created a party-like atmosphere full of moshing and raving. His signature move, whipping his dreads, and his flamboyant dancing was an energizing experience.
Flocka was truly personal with his fans, and was constantly pulling crowd members on stage to dance and sing along with him. Flocka has the power of making almost any person feel like much more than just a fan.
Every silence during the show was filled with fans and Flocka yelling “Brick Squad” (a record label company founded by fellow rapper Gucci Mane) back and forth or gunshot sounds. The dance floor was a battlefield full of adrenaline, excitement and suspense.
It’s undeniable that Flocka puts in a lot of effort to his shows in order to give his fans an invigorating live performance. After mingling in the crowd, Flocka was clearly out of breath and proceeded to play tracks without rapping along.
Flocka’s personable attitude and interactive performance was thrilling, and the crowd’s participation and energy combined with Flocka’s impressive live skills made the concert unforgettable.
