Flic, an app created by Lifehack Labs, provides user with an easy way to maximize storage on Apple iOS8 devices. Flic is currently 50 percent off at the price of .99 cents, but will soon be raised to the full price of $1.99.
Storage space on devices is precious with owners vying to get more apps, music and to take more photos. At the same time, deleting photos from a camera roll can be irritating. It is time-consuming and often causes users to delete photos they actually want.
Flic is for those who want a simple way to delete photos. Its sleek design makes it easy for a user to either keep a photo (flick right) or delete one (flick left).
The simple swipe controls makes the app unique and easy-to-use, but Flic goes a step further to help users decide whether or not to keep the photo. It asks questions like “Does this really look like a Kodak moment to you” and “Best. Picture. Ever?”. Users can also receive notifications every month to go through their pictures and clear space. These desirable features create an unique app.
One limitation is that the app is only available to users with iOS 8 which is not available for devices older than an iPhone 4s. The app was updated on Oct. 6, 2014 and fixed minor bugs that made the app unreliable. Since then, Flic has become more reliable and has gained some recognition.
Although Flic is an app that costs money, the idea and execution makes the app worth it and the price is still quite reasonable. As iOS 8 becomes more widely used, Flic will become an essential on every Apple device.
