Tuesday, Aug. 27th was the day that Treyarch brought the genius to the fans of Call of Duty that is known as the Apocalypse Downloadable Content map pack. When the map pack was first showcased by the Xbox Live community, the map pack was thought that it would be a major success. In a way that was correct.

The new pack comes with four new multiplayer maps and a whole new zombies experience known as “Origins”. The new maps are called Pod, Takeoff, Frost and Dig. All of these maps are really entertaining to play but they fall short of having originality.
The new map called Frost is a small village that is covered in snow. The fans of Black Ops 2 would recognize Takeoff as a resembling map to Carrier except it is larger. Pod is a small failed city that has a few nice close quarter combat places.
Dig is a small archaeological dig site that closely resembles the map known as Courtyard from Call of Duty World at War, which has made many fans feel nostalgic but also shows how Treyarch may be running low on map ideas. These multiplayer maps are not amazing, but they are better than some of the maps from previous DLCs.
Now for the most anticipated part of this map pack. Which being of course is Origins. One of the key features of Origins is the return of the original four characters from the first Black Ops, their names are Edward Richtofen, Takeo Masaki, Tank Dempsey and Nikolai Belinski, the return of these characters was one of the main reasons this map was so anticipated.
It has been a surprise to many people who find that the interactive hazards were really startling at times. This map is said to be the hardest zombies map in the zombies franchise.
Without a doubt it is one of the largest maps as it is set in the trenches of the first world war. The hazards include giant robots, zombie bosses and a few other surprises that should definitely be explored. This map pack has been one of the best map packs in the entire Black Ops franchise.
It goes to say without a doubt that this map pack is worth the price which is $14.99 individually or free with the season pass, it will definitely have fans wanting to play it more and more. This map is guaranteed to make everyone have hours and hours of fun. This map pack will have the fans begging for more and will make fans almost unable to wait for Call of Duty Ghosts.
