STAFF REPORTS
Clarke Central High School’s 2011-12 Teacher of The Year and Paraprofessional of The Year have been announced. Media center specialist Dorothy Burwell, left, has been named POTY and Career, Technical and Agricultural Education department teacher Carolyn Jackson, right, has been named TOTY.
Both teachers were ecstatic to be recognized with these awards. Here are some of the thoughts that they were willing to share with us about winning this award.
“(I felt) overwhelming gratitude because, it was just so nice for the staff to decide that I was worthy. I have a feeling of family in this building,” Burwell said.
“Unbelievable. It’s like awarding people for doing something they love…It’s quite awesome and it’s such an honor,” Jackson said.
