On April 12 during second block, the opening of International Day began with the Parade of Nations, where flags from countries across the world waved and represented CCHS students’ cultures.
“(International Day is) a day (every) year (when) we celebrate Clarke Central’s diversity and (create awareness) of the different ethnicities and races that the school brings together,” CCHS junior and International Club President Ariel Santillan said.
The show is organized by the International Club. Over 40 students participated and performed.
Among the acts were the SWAG Boys Step Team, junior Brionna Hall, performing a hula hoop dance, junior Kyara Meija singing song in Spanish as well as freshman Eddie Witchie who performed a rap about the types of goverment in different countries.
“We (had) some performers from the previous year’s show (who) still performed, but we (also had) new acts from freshmen,” Santillan said.
