Former Clarke Central High School students Martay Mattox and Alan Posey are now members of South Eastern Conference football powerhouses, facing off for the first time as rivals on Oct. 29 in the University of Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium.

The last time that the former students played football together, they were both in red jerseys and on the same side of the line of scrimmage. This time, Mattox was in a University of South Carolina jersey and Posey was in a UT jersey, each on their respective sidelines. Then ranked number 14 USC defeated UT 14-3.
On Feb. 2, Posey signed an official letter of intent to UT after verbally committing to head coach Derek Dooley’s team of Volunteers on May 4, 2010. Mattox graduated early to begin practice during the USC’s off season. Read more about Mattox here and Posey here.
