Friday night, Clarke Central High School defeated the Flowery Branch High School Falcons for the chance to be the region 8-AAAA champion, creating a three-way tie for first place between CCHS, FBHS and Heritage High School.
Saturday, the head coaches of each team met at Loganville High School, drawing out of a hat to determine who receives the first place title. HHS drew first seed, giving CCHS second seed their 38-35 win and FBHS third.
The gladiators will host the Lambert High School Longhorns this Friday night in Billy Henderson stadium at 7:30 pm for the first round of state playoffs. Had CCHS lost, they would have to travel to Tucker High School, region 6-AAAA’s first seed, this coming Friday. View the Georgia High School Association’s state playoff brackets here.
